Chaos ensued as Draya Michele filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor, regarding a house deal gone awry. In the lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports, the 39-year-old model accused Taylor of deceiving her in a housing agreement that resulted in financial loss and emotional distress.
According to Draya Michele, Tyrod Taylor purchased a property in the Los Angeles area in August 2022 and allowed her and her children to move in. Allegedly, they had a verbal agreement that Draya would eventually purchase the house from Taylor, with her contributions to the property, such as improvements and mortgage payments, counting towards the final purchase price.
Despite offering $2.8 million to Taylor for the house and eventually agreeing to his counteroffer of $3.2 million in January 2024, Draya claimed to have poured nearly $300K into the residence under the belief that it would go towards the agreed-upon price. However, she alleges that Taylor abruptly changed his mind and is now threatening to evict her while refusing to sell her the property, leaving her in a precarious situation.
In response to Taylor’s actions, Draya Michele has taken legal action, suing him for breach of contract among other things and seeking unspecified damages for the ordeal. The absence of a written contract due to their romantic relationship at the time has complicated matters for Draya, who finds herself in a complicated legal battle with her former partner.
Draya and Tyrod Taylor reportedly started dating in 2020 before parting ways in 2023. Draya has since moved on romantically with NBA star Jalen Green and recently welcomed their child into the world. Despite the personal turmoil surrounding the legal dispute with Taylor, Draya Michele is forging ahead with new beginnings in her personal life.
