Political Fundraisers in The Hamptons Causing Traffic Chaos

The Hamptons is once again facing a traffic nightmare as Donald Trump prepares to attend a fundraising event in the area. The event is being cohosted by Howard Lutnick from Cantor Fitzgerald, Omeed Malik from Farvahar Partners, and billionaire hedge funder John Paulson. This is not the first time Trump has caused chaos in the Hamptons – back in April, an event at Paulson’s Palm Beach home raised a staggering $50 million for the former president.

Tickets for the upcoming Bridgehampton event are priced between $25,000 per person to $500,000 for a couple to host. For those looking to get up close and personal with Trump, they can pay anywhere from $50,000 to $75,000 to snap a photo with him. With such high prices, it’s no wonder that the event is expected to draw a crowd.

Traffic Disruptions Expected

Trump will be landing at Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach and driving to Bridgehampton, causing road closures and disruptions in several areas. According to Southampton Town Police Lt. Todd Spencer, the affected areas will include Westhampton Beach, Hampton Bays, Southampton, Shinnecock Hills, North Sea, Water Mill, and Bridgehampton. This will undoubtedly lead to significant delays and frustrations for local residents and visitors alike.

This is not the first time that a political figure has caused traffic chaos in the Hamptons. President Biden visited the area in June for a fundraiser at billionaire Barry Rosenstein’s home, resulting in complaints from locals about extensive traffic delays. The motorcade accompanying Biden was blamed for the congestion, with residents relieved once the president left the area. It seems that political fundraisers are becoming synonymous with traffic nightmares in the Hamptons.

The influx of political fundraisers in the Hamptons is causing significant disruptions and frustrations for local residents and visitors. The high prices of tickets and photo opportunities only add to the chaos, leaving many questioning the impact of these events on the community. As the trend continues, it remains to be seen how the Hamptons will handle the onslaught of political figures and the gridlock they bring with them.
